Living in Southern California my entire life, I've never been far from the Ocean. My love of the ocean began early with visits to Marineland of the Pacific and SeaWorld. As a child, I remember watching Sea Hunt and wanting to explore the underwater world like Lloyd Bridges. I am SCUBA certified and have been a recreational instructor for NAUI, PADI and SDI with numerous certifications including Underwater Photography.
My love of the ocean is further enhanced through my photography. I began shooting in the digital age with Sea and Sea's MX-10, the Yellow Submarine. I evolved through various iterations of Nikon's professional SLR's and now shoot Nikon's mirrorless Z9.
I love sharing the underwater world with others. My photos have been published in local magazines and my wife and I make presentations to parties interested in the fascinating sea life around the world. Further, I have served on the Board of The Historical Diving Society (HDS) and, for the past 8 years, have been their treasurer. The HDS documents human exploration underwater including the evolution of underwater photography.
My photo library consists of thousand of undersea critters both large and small. Each year I select images for display at the SCUBA show. Here I present a few of my favorite subjects for your pleasure.
